To reach municipality of Alykes you first have to get to Zakynthos! The island can be reached via aeroplane (the most popular choice for the majority of tourists) or by ferry boat from mainland Greece.
There are international flights all year round to Athens airport with connecting flights to the island or you can hire a car or take the coach from Athensto the port of kyllini and then the ferry boat to Zakynthos port.
The most popular route is to fly direct to Zakynthos airport during the summer season and there are many companies which fly to the island.
The airport is only operating direct flights from May to October which is the tourist season.
It is worth noting that Easyjet budget airlines are planning to add Zakynthos to its destination list in 2010 which will open up more opportunities for tourists to visit this beautiful island.
