Facilities for the disabled have been launched on Alykes Beach.
This is a first for Zakynthos, and Greece as a whole. The new facilities include ramps and special wheelchairs which go into the sea enabling those with disabilities to enjoy a dip in the sea.
Launched in association with the Mayor of Alykes - Mr Adonis Gouskous, Commander of ODAZ - Mr Stathis Bennitis, President of ESAMEA - Mr Yannis Grekas and Chairman of the organisation 'Popolaron' - Mr Yannis Vardakastaris, this offers a unique chance for people with all disabilities to enjoy the therapeutic nature of the sea.
There was an official launch party, attended by those named above, on the sandy shores of Alykes and The Confederation of People with Disabilities praised Alykes Council for its fantastic work in bringing these facilities to Zakynthos.
